Jensen VM9412 In-dash DVD receiverReviewsI bought the radio and navigation module over two years ago. I still love the radio and believe it to work properly. some flaws, but overall happy. A year into owning it I returned it to JVC for service at it will not play DVD's. It will always give me a "bad disc" message and spit it out. I mainly play "DVD-R's" and believe this is the problem and the discs with labels are ticker than regular (original) discs. As another person stated, it will play a DVD for 30 minutes and start skipping until it freezes. this, i believe is a design problem, the unit apparently overheats quickly... Once I got the unit back from JVC, which by the way was excellent customer service (once you provide them with copy of purchase receipt), the unit came back find, but I notice it will freeze after 30 minutes or so again... DVD feature work like a charm, very accurate maps and software is as good as any other navigation device brand name. I would love NOT to have had the radio serviced and for it to work properly once it was "fixed", for this I took one star from my review... I originally bought this unit because of its many features including IPOD control and the big one for me - multizone control. I was extremely ecstatic when I got this product. All worked as advertised for the first six months. However, soon afterwards, the unit started to fail after 60 mins of use. Of course, this was a huge disappointment, because most of the DVDs my kids watched is well over that time. I've had this unit from hell a little over a year now and new things seem to be breaking. As of 2 weeks ago, the eject button, the stop button, joystick and mute button have failed. My recommendation would be to avoid purchase of this product at all cost. It is definitely not worth the money. For a few more bucks, you can purchase a more reliable brand like Clarion. The only problem I have is the automatic preset button is kinda big and in the middle which makes it way too easy to accidentally hit. I bought this radio from Circuit City during their going out of business sale. I love the radio and all the functionality that it has.. I can't wait to expand on what I already have for it. When i bought this item i thought that the interface for the user was one of the best that i had seen, especially for the price. However of course just as the warrantee of a year that i had expired the screen no longer works and instead now displays vertical rainbow lines. It could be that the system is not tested under the same cold temperatures as where i live. But i highly doubt that just seems like poor manufacturing. BEWARE. Bought this last fall. Not bad at first. I was really happy with it. Then, I burned some mp3s and things started going wacky on thye player. Some days I would start the car and the player would play in half speed mode--sounded like a demonic force belting out my music. Also, I cant play dvd's now. The player states its a bad disk. No mechanical issues. I may have a virus of some kind causing the strange playback. DVD's worked before I put Cradle of Filth in there....Spooky. Average Rating:![]() |

Boss BV9990 7-Inch In-Dash Motorized Widescreen Touchscreen TFT Monitor/DVD/MP3/CD Combo ReceiverReviewsThis is an alright product. Only has one sound output so if you got heavy subs i wouldn't recommend it. But I had this product for almost 3 months went to go in and get subs installed and it had a bad radio unit therefore my speakers could have been louder but they are not. But everything else works pretty good. if u listen 2 tha radio you'll c pissed cause it won't stay on a station & there is no amp gain setting just a dbass button thats not bad but can't adjust it Not a bad unit for price, has a pretty cheap cooling fan, that will whine for about 30 seconds or so after first powering on each time. Installation is ok, video wire can be grounded for motion video. seems cheap and flimsy though, if your looking for a bargain LCD single DIN this is it compared to DUAL brand this is much better and cheaper on price. After this is my first LCD, think next purchase I will opt for a Kenwood or Pioneer and spend the extra coin. This stereo is over rated. yes pictures of it do look very nice i do really like the touch screen, but the touch screen is a little slow. and in my opinion it ruined the sound system in my car. i didnt get the full sound i could have if i would have gotten to better one. I was fully loaded with alpine speakers, JL audio subs, and JL audio mono black. great sound system. but whenever i put this is i noticed a major difference. i didnt get a good full bass that i was getting with my pioneer. and also the radio was more static it seemed like. so over all you get what ya pay for its one of the cheaper stereos, i wouldnt recomend it to anyone. but if you want something for looks and dont really care how it sounds this is the stereo for you. i just recently purchased this and got it installed the next day annd i love it so wirth the money.only down fall cant watch dvd while driving with is a bummer if u have a child like me but other than that it is wonderful sound quilty is great and i am expanding off it with puting my speakers in great starting peice for a system to start Average Rating:![]() |

Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD In-Dash Double-DIN DVD Multimedia AV ReceiverReviewsMy jensing stock car stereo died, so I figured that it was best to get a new one. If you want double din dash, this is the one to get! I dont know why people still buy the 3100 version, probably because they haven't heard of this one. I almost got that one too, but I accidentally clicked on this one, and boy am I glad I did! The 3100 doesn't have a SD card slot, which this one (avh p3200dvd) does! I dont use the bluetooth feature, nor do I plan to watch movies on it. I was actually looking at the fh-p8000bt, but I wanted a DVD MP3 feature. For an extra $50, it was worth it to upgrade to this one because you will get a LCD TOUCH screen, a USB, Aux inputs, DVD playability, AND an SD card slot. Pros: The price/feature ratio is a steal! Cheap with superb high-end sound; they don't skim on the audio just because it plays DVD's... in fact, it sounds better than my factory jensing which already sounded nice. Also since it's DVD, it can play my entire music collection. Yes, my mp3 collection doesn't even fill up a DVD but hey, I'm very picky of what I listen to. Touchscreen LCD is very easy to use. Navigation is easy once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. The software is very smooth and doesn't hiccup or freeze. It has lots of preset led colors to suit your style; This feature wasn't important for me, but it's still nice to have. DVD readability is nice, although i dont ever plan to use it for movies...driving and watching movies is taboo. I can upgrade it to have a navigation system whenever I want. The USB slot is a great alternative source for music. It is also very compatible with the ipod, and I also heard Zune, but why use an Ipod when I would rather use the deck? The SD card slot is a feature only in the 3200, not the 3100. This is a plus because I dont want to accidentally kick my usb drive and break my dash. The SD card slides right in and gets out of your way. Also another great alternative source for music. It looks simply beautiful. I stare at it for 5 minutes every time I get into my car. Now for the cons: No theft deterrent. Not too big a deal for me. If a thief wants it, he'll get it no matter what system you have. Besides, I have a car alarm. I dont think I wanna carry around a large faceplate with me whever I go anyway. No bluetooth. Okay, so I hear that people complain that even cheap $100 stereos gets bluetooth, but for this system its a $100 addon. but do the other cheap stereos have dvd/mp3 playability? usb/sd card slots? touchscreen lcd? I dont think so. Also, I dont believe in talking while driving so it works out for me. No HD radio. People also complain that HD radio is a freebie on even $100 stereos. I dont know what I'm missing out on because I've never had HD radio. Nor do I listen to the radio much, they just play crap most of the time anyway. Wow Pioneer blew me away with the features/price ratio. You can't find any other system with all these features for this price. Not only that, but the quality and craftsmanship of this product is superb. If you want an in dash DVD unit without navigation (which I believe you can add on later) then this stereo is perfect! It won't break the bank at around $420 installed and it has tons of nice features. The touch screen is smooth and the interface is very easy to navigate around. When you plug in your iPod via usb cable you can control it via the stereo. This is probably my favorite feature because its so easy and functional. The DVD picture quality is excellent and it plays DVD+R movies and music. Another great feature is that you have a USB, SD, and Aux port directly on the front of the stereo. Overall I would definitely recommend this unit! Average Rating:![]() |

Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD 5.8-Inch In-Dash Touchscreen Double-Din DVD Multimedia A/V ReceiverReviewsThe pioneer radio that i bought is awesome! i can play my dvds and my ipod with no problem. the picture quality is great and it plays on my rear tv also. i highly recomend this product to whomever is interested in buying a radio like this!! I ordered this item from amazon and when i had it installed it was defected. The cd player didnt work, it made an annoying buzzing sound, and it would randomly get stuck on mute. SO I went to return and and i didnt even get all of my money back, they deducted 61 dollars from the total. I purchased this head unit for my 2001 Ford F-150 Crew Cab. It took a little time and cutting to make it work, but when i was done it looked perfect.I have to agree with most everyone's comments, this is an awesome deck and easy to use. The sound and picture quality are amazing. my only complaint is the unit did not come with a remote or else i would have given it 5 stars. I guess i'm hard to please. Oh and also it took me a while to figure out how to bypass the DVD emergency brake thing. even though i do not recomend doing this, as it is not legal in most states, don't say i never told you anything, its simple to do. Buy a 12v on/off switch, they are like $3.00. at Pep Boys. Take the common ground (black wire) from your vehicle's wiring harness, and the ground wire (black wire) from your Pioneer 3100's wire harness and connect them with one end of a barrel connector, leaving the other end of the barrel connector open. Now run one of the two wires from the switch to the open end of the barrel connecter and attach it. For the last wire left on the switch take the green park brake wire from the Pioneer 3100's harness and connect it to the last wire left on the on/off switch. Done!. Thats it. now all you do is flip that switch to on or off if you hooked the wires up backwards lol and you can watch a DVD while the vehicle is moving. Anyway i am happy with this units performance and it was pretty easy to install. if you do purchase this unit you will be happy especially for the price. if you have any questions feel free to write. This thing is a great stereo. I use it to play MP3s from a thumbdrive. I do not use the DVD player but it does work. The only improvement they could have done would be make the volume buttons a single turnable knob instead of two buttons. It is also dumb that when u turn it off it plays a demo of its features. Kinda annoying. Average Rating:![]() |
